Tammy Ryan's plays have been performed, commissioned and developed across the United States and internationally.  She was awarded the Francesca Primus Prize by the American Theater Critics Association for her play Lost Boy Found in Whole Foods (Premiere Stages/Playwrights Theater of New Jersey). Other plays include: Take My Hand And Wave Goodbye (Playfest, Orlando Shakes, Playpenn Haas Fellow) The Wake (Premiere Stages Play Festival winnerMolly’s Hammer (Repertory Theater of St. Louis), Tar Beach (Luna Stage, Kilroy’s List Honorable Mention), Soldier’s Heart, (Pittsburgh Playhouse), Baby's Blues (NCPA, Mumbai S/he (Lindsey's Oyster) (Garag Istanbul), Pig (29th Street Rep) and The Music Lesson (Florida Stage/AATE Distinguished New Play Award),  Her work has been supported by the National New Play Network, New Harmony Project, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, The Heinz Endowment and The Pittsburgh Foundation. Tammy is a member of the Pittsburgh Public Theater's Playwrights Collective and is a long time member of the Dramatists Guild of America. She is honored to be a resident playwright of New Dramatists class of 2027.
